Day 2 of Alba's epic adventure saw her leave Sandy Bay around 5am and we made our way to Cambois through East Sleekburn and onto Blyth where we stopped for a bit of breakfast.
Waving goodbye to our caravan Alba smashed 7 miles with a 5am start. We've stopped for breakfast then have 2 miles down to Blyth front and a further 4 miles to Castaways Tea Shop where we plan to stop for coffee/hot choc and cake before a couple of miles to our caravan
A lot of paths and plodding on concrete for the first 10 miles or so..not the best but lots to see along the way.We hit Blyth and met with a lady who is also home educating her kids, she stopped for a chat and gave Alba some money for an ice cream. Another lady was driving and spotted Alba and pulled over to donate..this carried on through Ridley Park too where Alba got her ice cream.
Finally...the beach! Wellies off and in the sea she went. Just before Seaton Sluice a guy who had spotted Alba yesterday had driven by to find her, chat and donate. Then a few ladies found us too!
We arrived at Castaways Tea rooms and it was such a lovely little place, super quirky and colourful! We ate toasties, hot drinks and cake and they covered the whole bill and sent us away with more cake for the road. SO grateful.
We decided here to walk direct to the caravan park to get rid of our bags, chat live with BBC Radio Newcastle and chat with ITV Tyne & Tees!We then went and covered the coastal section along the light house and brought you guys with us. Nipped into Co op where we met a few people and got more donations! Then because we were all done and more for the day we hopped on a bus to the caravan.
Tomorrow we head off down to catch a ferry and into Seaburn!
Over 58,000 Alba steps and 18.2 miles covered today!
