Alba made it to Middlesbrough.. that's day 6 complete!
This morning Alba didn't feel great, she missed her daddy and just felt sad. We waved goodbye to Tumbleweed and headed up to the Marina to meet Neil from BBC radio Tees! We stayed with him a while chatting and he was great with her and within no time we were being interviewed and viewed on video and having photos taken. So great to spread the word!We then headed to Costa for a sugar boost and breakfast where we spotted a huge rainbow over us as the rain poured down. We did 5 step (grounding technique) and whipped out our trusty bubbles which we carry and slowly slowly she felt calmer- still missing daddy but happier about today's adventure.
We made it onto the beach and walked down to Seaton Carew! What an awesome little place. Alba loved collecting shells and spotting the playground and multi coloured huts.
Then into the amusements! In the second amusement we got to chatting with the guys working there. They brought us hot drinks and biscuits, got Alba a platypus teddy and stopped to chat with us and take photos. Amazing!
We then headed to The Almighty Cod Fish & Chip Shop who invited us in for food. We walked in to find a poster on the counter..they only found out about Alba last night!! They also were collecting donations too. We got comfy next door and were fed and given drinks. Alba had the biggest bowl of mushy peas haha and then they topped up our donation tub with a big donation. SO grateful!
We then decided to head to North Gare which is amazing! What views and boats we saw and the biggest shells ever! Then as Alba wasn't covering tees road we hopped on the bus to Middlesbrough before completing today's walk and getting to our accommodation.
What an unexpectedly amazing and productive day! She added another 9+ miles today and has now walked a total of 99.6 miles and we have around 10+ miles tomorrow to finish. That's 303,484 Alba steps!
Tomorrow we make it to our final destination for this multi day hike: Redcar!!
Thank you for all of your support so far,for all your donations and sending Alba money for food/treats/supplies.
